What does Abigail do when suspicion that she might be pretending falls on her?

When suspicion that she might be pretending falls on her, Abigail is quick to accuse others of witchcraft in order to deflect attention from herself. In Act III of The Crucible, for example, when Mary Warren reveals that Abigail has been secretly dancing in the woods with other girls, Abigail accuses Mary of being a witch and claims that she has seen Mary making a poppet of John Proctor. This accusation serves to shift the focus of attention away from Abigail's own actions and onto Mary, who is eventually arrested and imprisoned as a result of Abigail's lies.
