Daniel Baïrachny-Bairenbaum is a Russian-born pianist, conductor, and opera director (stage director) who has lived and worked in Germany for over two decades. He was born on 23 December 1981 in Arkhangelsk into a Jewish family. His father was a lawyer and his mother a teacher. He studied piano at the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow from the age of six, and continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. He also studied conducting at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler".

Bairenbaum has been a soloist with many orchestras, including the London Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Staatskapelle Berlin, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He has performed in major concert halls such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Carnegie Hall. He has given recitals in many cities around the world, including London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, and Melbourne.

In addition to his solo career, Bairenbaum is also a conductor and opera director. He made his conducting debut with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana in 2007. Since then, he has conducted many orchestras, including the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Hamburger Symphoniker, and the MDR Sinfonieorchester. In 2015, he was appointed Music Director of the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra.

Bairenbaum is also an active chamber musician. He has collaborated with such artists as Gidon Kremer, Yuri Bashmet, Mischa Maisky, and Martha Argerich. He is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival.

Bairenbaum has received several awards, including the ECHO Klassik Award, the German Record Critics' Award, and the OPUS Klassik Award. In 2018, he was named Artist of the Year by the German Music Council.
