How to Decorate a Carnival Booth

Carnivals are the essence of local fun. Whether you're creating a booth for a county fair or for a birthday party, decorations add the necessary pizazz to your display. Once decorated, the booth should look full and should be bursting with bright, alluring colors. A well-decorated carnival booth will not only look impressive, it will entice people to come see what games and goodies you have to offer.

Instructions

    • 1

Paint large, red stripes on the booth's canopy and side walls if they are not already striped. Stripes create the classic carnival look. You can add gold stripes between the red stripes for an even more spectacular, regal appearance.

    • 2

Hang S hooks along the booth's front beam or, if the beam is wood, screw hooks into it. Hang game prizes or bags of candy from the hooks, depending on what your booth is for. Goodies hung along the beam add to the booth's appearance and entice the carnival-goers into stopping at the booth.

    • 3

Make three large banners to display on the booth. Create the banners with fabric and fabric paints, or have them made at a print shop from a digital image. The banner should display the function of the booth, such as "Milk Bottle Toss" or "Balloon and Dart Throw." Add an enticing phrase such as "Impress the lady!" or "Are you feeling lucky?" Hang the banners along the side beams and underneath the front counter of the booth.

    • 4

Fill the booth's interior with clumps of brightly-colored bouquets of helium balloons. Tie a weight to each bouquet with a long string. Place the balloons around the interior of the booth to make it appear to be full. According to Passion-For-Parties.com, balloons help create a "party-ful" atmosphere.

    • 5

Display an example of what treats or activity you're selling on the counter at the front of the booth. If you are promoting a ring-toss game, display a few bottles with rings around their necks. If you're selling caramel apples, display a tray of them. This will show passers-by what the booth is selling and draw them in.
