Square Dance Clubs in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is one of the main cultural hubs for the West Coast, with clubs and activities for people of all interests and ages. One popular activity is square dancing, and many clubs exist in the area to promote and teach this form of dance. The following clubs are some of the largest in the area.

    • As of 2010, Trailblazers is over 250 members strong and focuses on advanced and challenging level dancing. They hold multiple events every week throughout the Los Angeles area, including Westminster, Santa Ana and Paramount.

    Boots in Squares

    • Boots in Squares is a gay and lesbian square dancing club with over 50 members as of 2010. They offer Mainstream, A-1 and A-2 dances, and instruction and dance weekly.

    Heels and Souls

    • Heels and Souls can trace their roots back to 1959 when the club began as a group of four friends and a caller. The club now offers weekly lessons, multiple dances each week and performs for many special events in the Los Angeles area, such as Mardi Gras and local farmers markets.

    Guys and Dolls

    • Guys and Dolls was established in 1986 and has over 100 members as of 2010. As of February 2010, they hold monthly meetings, weekly dance lessons and weekly dances at their Los Angeles location.

    Red Ribbon Squares

    • This club is the sister club to Guys and Dolls and was also established in 1959. It is the official square dancing club of Santa Monica and holds bi-monthly dances and bi-weekly classes.
