Square Dance Clubs in Florida

Although square (and round) dancing is for people of all ages, it's particularly popular with seniors. When you consider the huge numbers of people who retire to Florida, it's only natural that a large number of square dance clubs can be found around the state. Many of these clubs are well organized and hold weekly dances as well as classes and other special events.
  1. Whirl and Twirl Square and Round Dance

    • The Whirl and Twirl Square and Round Dance club, which traces its roots back to 1962, opened its own dance center in 1995 in Orlando. The club holds basic and advanced level dance lessons on Tuesdays and round dance classes every Thursday throughout the year. Dances are held every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. This a club for couples only who can demonstrate a degree of proficiency in square dancing. In addition to its weekly events, the club holds various socials and attends square dancing events around the state. Each year the club holds an election to name its officers.
