Salsa Dancing Night Clubs in Springfield, Illinois

As the capital of Illinois, Springfield is a city filled with entertainment and great nightlife. From sports bars to dance clubs, Springfield has a little bit of everything. The city also boasts a strong Latino culture, and many of the night clubs host Salsa dancing and instruction. Clubs throughout the city work with the National Image Inc. Central Illinois Chapter to host benefit nights for the Latino Scholarship Fund.
  1. Stella Blue

    • Those visiting Stella Blue will find an upscale bar serving a selection of fine cocktails and martinis. Located right above Sebastian’s Hideout, the martini bar offers a trendy ambience with candlelit tables, halogen lighting and a serpentine bar. Every Wednesday night the bar has live music with no cover charge.

      Salsa Nights at Stella Blue are held every last Saturday of the month. Lessons are given from 9 to 10 p.m. and a disc jockey beings playing music after 12:30 a.m. There is a small cover charge that benefits the Latino Scholarship Fund of the Central Illinois Chapter of National Image Inc.

    El Maya

    • When dining at El Maya Mexican Restaurant, you’ll enjoy an extensive menu with authentic Mexican cuisine surrounded by traditional Mexican décor. Located in downtown Springfield, the restaurant features freshly made guacamole, enchiladas, chile rellenos and other traditional dishes.

      Dance off a filling meal at El Maya every first and third Saturday of the month from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Salsa dancing nights at the club have a small cover charge. Proceeds benefit the National Image Inc. Latino Scholarship Fund and its Central Illinois Chapter.

    Broadway Nites

    • Broadway Nites is a bar and dance club situated in the heart of Springfield. This trendy new club offers two levels of nightlife. The second level offers the largest dance floor and stage in the downtown Springfield area and has all kinds of dancing.

      Anything goes at Broadway Nites, including Salsa, hip-hop and swing. Reggae is available Thursday nights on the second level, and live bands play occasionally on Friday and Saturday nights.

    Prairie Land Dance Club

    • When attending the Prairie Land Dance Club you’ll find a large room with hardwood floors purely dedicated to dancing. Hosted on the first Saturday of every month, the club offers dance lessons at 6:30 p.m. and dancing from 7 to 11 p.m.

      The club offers swing, jive, cha-cha, two-step, merengue, rumba, tango and salsa dancing to those attending. There is a small cover charge. Soda, water, coffee and tea are sold at the facility.
