Salsa Dance Clubs in Nashville, Tennessee

Although Nashville, Tennessee is best known for country and western music and its world-famous Grand Ole Opry, evenings of salsa dance music can be found around the city. These facilities include night clubs with salsa dance music as well as clubs that stage ballroom dances and offer dance lessons on selected evenings.

  1. Ibiza Night Club

    • The Ibiza Night Club advertises its "Salsa Fever'' and has salsa nights on Fridays and Saturdays. The music is either played by live bands or DJ's. The Ibiza Night Club also offers free salsa lessons on Thursday through Saturday from 9 to 10 p.m. and has a free salsa workshop on Sundays from 7 to 9 p.m. The club has drink specials every evening and on some nights there is no coverage charge for ladies. In addition to the salsa lessons, parking and a buffet with appetizers are included in the cover charge. No chewing gum is allowed and a dress code that requires collared shirts and does not permit sneakers is enforced.

    Coco Loco Restaurant/Club

    • Situated in the southeast section of Nashville, the Coco Loco Restaurant/Club is a popular place for salsa dancing. The nightclub portion of the building is open from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays and has a 750 square foot dance floor. It also has a full bar and is open only to people who are 21 years of age or older. Salsa music is regularly played by either DJs or live bands on the five nights the night club is open. On Saturday evenings the club often holds a tropical Latin dance party. The Coco Loco also has a restaurant that serves reasonably-priced Puerto Rican and Cuban cuisine. The restaurant is open Wednesday though Sunday from 7 to 11 p.m. and has a happy hour with reduced-price appetizers from 8 to 10 p.m.

    Dance World

    • Dance World hosts an evening of dancing on Saturday evenings from 8 to 10:30 p.m. for a fee of $17 per person and $30 for a couple, as of 2010. This entrance fee also includes dance lessons that are held from 7 to 8:00 p.m. The club has two large dance floors and plays a variety of dance music, including salsa. Dance instructors are there to help guests get started and to provide a dancing partner. The club also hosts special event such as a Fourth of July cookout/dance, an anniversary dance and a winter showcase. Additional dance classes are offered on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
