What are the steps of Pagapir Folk Dance?

The Pagapir Folk Dance consists of the following steps:

Entrance:

1. Entrance (panao nga pagsurat): The dancers enter the stage in two straight lines, girls in front and boys at the back.

2. Advance (adbay, adwan o adway) - When the dancers are already on the performing area, they walk forward until they reach the other end.

3. Advance diagonally in a serpentine-like movement until they reach the front corner of the dancing area.

Basic Dance Steps:

1. Pagaspas: The dancers hold hands and form a big semi-circle which moves like waves back and forth. At the same time, they move one foot forward and backward.

2. Paggapas: The dancers imitate the action of reaping, moving their hand downward diagonally back to front.

Additional Steps:

1. Paglalakad: The dancers walk around in a circle.

2. Pagluhod (Kneeling)

3. Lumuhod (Kneeling and rising)

4. Pagtakip sa Mata (Covering the eyes)

5. Lukso o Agtak (Jump)

6. Hinto (Stop).
