When was ballroom dancing discovered?

Ballroom dancing is not a newly discovered activity, but rather an art form with a rich and diverse history that spans centuries and various cultures around the world. However, the phrase "modern ballroom dancing" came into use in the early 1900s to refer to the standardized form of social dance popular in Europe and the United States. The codification of ballroom dance styles, such as the waltz, tango, and foxtrot, became widespread during this period.
