Dance Clubs in Bangor, Maine

For most people, the first thing that Bangor, Maine brings to mind is lobster, and the second is Stephen King. Yet, even though Bangor isn't known to outsiders as a night life capital, there are places in the surrounding area to socialize, grab a few drinks and hit the dance floor.
  1. Curva Ultra Lounge

    • Just a short walk from the University of Maine's York Hall in Orono is the Curva Ultra Lounge, a versatile establishment which triples as a campus hangout, restaurant and dance club. Boasting a state-of-the-art sound system, the Curva hosts DJ boogie sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays, with special events such as Laserdisk night.

    Peake's Hill Lodge

    • Peake's Hill Lodge in Dedham, about 13 miles outside of Bangor, offers the feel of a nightclub in a rural setting. Country jam sessions are open to musicians who want to join in, while Hawaiian Beach party nights, disco dance-offs and raffle contests add to the festive atmosphere.

    Club Gemini

    • Located in downtown Bangor, Club Gemini is the scene of nightly dance parties set to a DJ's beat. The club welcomes guests with weekly Beer Pong tournaments and monthly Keg Party Saturdays. Ladies' nights bring the female guests through the doors where there is plenty of space to dance or just relax with a brew.

    Toziers II

    • Located about 20 miles south of Bangor, in scenic Bucksport on the Penobscot River, Toziers II is a bar, restaurant and nightclub that hosts live local bands on a weekly basis. Mid-week karaoke nights liven up the place and Friday and Saturday nights bring blues and country music along with drink specials.
