Located just outside the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the Fountain Square Theatre Building offers an upscale atmosphere for swing dance enthusiasts. Each Friday, Swing Dance lessons are offered at 7:30 p.m. before the open dance begins at 8:30 p.m. Different bands and orchestras are featured each week. The dance ends at 11:30 p.m. Admission is $12 for the lesson and open dance or $10 for the open dance only. In addition to the dancing opportunities, the area also offers a variety of attractions, including vintage bowling alleys, restaurants, cocktail bars, and hotels.

The Emerson Theater, a music venue with a 400-person capacity, welcomes music and dance lovers of any age. They host a variety of local, regional, and national music acts, with most engagements being held Friday and Saturday evenings. A revamped theater, the building no longer offers seating. All admission is for standing-room only.

Rhino's Youth Club, located outside Indianapolis in Bloomington, offers youth an opportunity to groove to the beats of local musical acts in a safe environment. The music club, started by teenagers in 1992 and supervised by a staff of adults, caters to a variety of musical preferences. Styles include punk, hip-hop, and pop. Weekend shows require a minimal cover charge. Over 1,200 teens join in the fun at Rhino's each month.
