Teenage Dance Clubs in San Diego

San Diego is home to beaches, surf and parks, as well as the world-famous San Diego Zoo and its Museum of Art. The city also has an exciting and active nightlife---and some of these venues are teen friendly and alcohol free. Dance clubs in the area cater to both adults and teens. The city offers several great choices for teens looking for dance clubs.
  1. Ground Zero

    • Ground Zero is an all-ages club that does not sell or permit alcohol on the premises, so it is not the place for those 21 and up looking for a bar or lounge. The venue highlights the underground indie-punk scene, which makes it an attractive place for the teen crowd and those a little older to enjoy a night out. The building, which has a concert atmosphere, has in the past featured artists such as Fall Out Boy, Vendetta Red and Acceptance. The dress code is casual, and the club does not have a restaurant or sell any food items.

    Icehouse Young Adult Night Club

    • Icehouse Young Adult Night Club is one of the best under-21 dance clubs in the San Diego area, an ideal spot for the high-school-and-up crowd to spend weekend nights. The club has a multilayer dance floor illuminated by laser lights. Elevated cages and the outdoor lounge offer more dancing options. Ladies Night has no cover charge for women of all ages. The club features music such as hip-hop, R & B and reggaeton with highlights of electro house and progressive trance. DJs play the latest dance hits. The dress code calls for strictly dress attire for this venue, which has no restaurant and does not sell any food items.

    SOMA

    • SOMA provides an atmosphere free of alcohol and drugs and provides a venue designed specifically for the underage. The mission of SOMA centers on showing by example that drugs and alcohol are not necessary to have a good time. The venue does not tolerate any violence, gang clothing or racist tattoos; further, the club does not allow crowd surfing or moshing. The staff ejects patrons who do not follow the rules, and SOMA does not give refunds. The club offers a mix of music from ska, alternative, punk and metal, and live bands such as Cobra Skulls, Get Back Loretta and Light This City perform regularly. The dress code is casual, and the venue does not serve any food items.
