Tijuana Dance Clubs

Because of its proximity to the U.S. border and its low drinking age, Tijuana is a popular party spot for young, mainly college crowds from Southern California as well as a variety of travelers. Avenue Revolucion is the main strip for night clubs, featuring a mix of Latin and gringo music for a rowdy crowd. These dance clubs are notorious for cheap tequila and all-you-can-drink specials.
  1. Safari Club

    • A large dance club located on Revolucion, Safari Club offers three dance floors, each with a fully stocked bar. The first room has a smaller dance floor and bar to get warmed up on, while the second room has the main dance floor with a DJ booth and an additional bar. Musical styles range from '90s classics to modern dance hits, including hip-hop, alternative and pop. The upstairs dance area is reminiscent of a small rave, with dark lighting and effects coupled with house and trance music. For a breath of fresh air, step outside toward the back of the club to lounge or play volleyball on Safari's own courts. Fixed-price, all-you-can-drink specials run throughout the week at reasonable prices.

The main dance floor is on the first floor, while additional floors feature wrap-around balconies and are crowned with an open terrace and an additional full-service bar. The nightclub has tan, wooden interiors with colorful lighting and plasma screen TVs sprinkled throughout, where VJs execute live video mixing to accompany DJ performances. Coko Bongo also features live rock concerts on the weekends. It doesn't charge a cover on Fridays. A VIP area offers bottle service.

    The Caves

    • Located on Avenida Revolucion, The Caves is a two-story night club with two separate dance floors and full-service bars. It also has a Flintstones-themed decor with rock walls. The Caves doesn't offer an all-you-can-drink cover. For those who like to consume a lot, drinks might run a decent tab, but if you just want a couple of cocktails, the lack of a cover entry is easier on the wallet. Resident DJs spin old-school rap, top 40, reggae and reggaeton as well as a small selection of Latin tunes for an 18 and over crowd. TV screens, fog machines and light shows make for a vibrant club experience.
