If you’ve come to dance, then stick around until after 9 p.m. when the walls start to pulse to the beat of the DJ music. The Q has two levels of dance floors, the second being on the open roof. You can mingle as well as dance with a different crowd as you move from floor to floor. Both floors have full bars serving cocktails, signature martinis, microbrewery beer and an extensive wine list. The Q features DJ music every Wednesday through Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

    Baha Rock Club

    • If you prefer dancing to live music, you might want to consider spending your evening at Baha Rock Club. This is a venue for local rock bands as well as other live entertainment. Single men looking to meet unattached women may want to show up on Ladies’ Night every Tuesday through Thursday. As of August, 2010, Tuesday nights featured DJ dance music and drink specials.

    Bottleneck Blues Bar

    • Whether or not you like to gamble, you still may want to take a chance on the Bottleneck Blues Bar, located inside the Ameristar Casino. This live entertainment venue features local bands and a large dance floor. On Friday and Saturday, the cover charge, as of August, 2010, is $5. The bar also hosts ticketed events with nationally-known bands such as Daughtry and the Go Go's, and comedians such as Damon Wayans and Rob Schneider. Ticket prices vary for these events.

    The Jive & Wail

    • The downtown scene isn’t for everyone and you may be looking for an experience outside the usual live band or DJ dance club. The Jive & Wail, located in nearby St. Peters, is a dueling piano bar that encourages clapping, singing and dancing. The piano players perform popular hits from a wide range of artists including Elvis, Bon Jovi and Eminem. Feel free to make requests. The Jive & Wail has a full dinner menu and bar, allowing you to come for dinner and stay for the entertainment. It is open Thursday through Saturday, 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
