In the 1990s, the building on Delancey Street was converted into a music venue. The age limits for the shows vary, with most requiring attendees to be 18 or older. But some shows only require patrons to be 16. Tickets range from $12 to $30 as of 2010.

    Café Wha?

    • Café Wha? offers a wide range of music, from Brazilian and reggae to funk and hip-hop. Located on MacDougal Street between 3rd and Bleecker streets, Café Wha? has been around since the 1950s. Some of the greatest rockers in history, including Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, have performed here. Today, Café Wha? is an all-ages club, but there is a $15 food or drink minimum for anyone under the age of 21. The cover charges range from $5 to $10, depending on the night of the week.     • Webster Hall is another historic building that has been renovated and become a staple of the New York City nightclub scene. Built in the late 1800s, Webster Hall used be known as the Ritz and was used as a recording studio. In the 1990s, the decades-old building in Greenwich Village was turned into a live music venue, offering everything from hip-hop and rap to indie-rock and alternative music. Doors open at 10 p.m. Patrons need to be 19 to get in. There is a dress code that requires a neat and trendy appearance.
