Summer Dance Camps in Houston

Houston, the fourth-largest city in the country, as of the 2000 census, has dozens of dance studios for dancers of all ages. The city's reverence for the arts through its booming theater district, art galleries and dance studios, also translates into summer dance education for people of all ages.

The six-week program provides rigorous and rewarding classes to help improve dance technique and a variety of aspects affiliated with ballet. Students enrolled in the program attend classes six days each week in areas such as technique and pas de deux, as well as training in other genres of dance, including lyrical, theater, modern, jazz and drama. Optional dancer nutrition courses are also available, and each course is taught by current and former Houston Ballet dancers, along with world-renowned dance instructors.

    Elite Music and Fine Arts Day Camp

    • The musical theater summer camp at Elite Music and Fine Arts Day Camp is an enjoyable way for kids in Houston to get excited about the arts, according to its website. The summer classes offer training in dancing (jazz and drama), acting and singing, and incorporate educators from prestigious universities like Houston Baptist, Rice, St. Thomas and University of Houston.     Dance Houston Summer Camps
