The Ballroom Dance Teachers Academy is a vocational program that provides professional training to aspiring ballroom dance teachers. In this course, you learn how dance as a leader and follower, the musical elements of various styles, how to teach private and group lessons, and the technical elements of different styles. When you complete the course, which includes taking and passing the exams, you receive a Certificate of Completion from the BDTA. This is different than professional certification, which is recognized by an accredited organization within the dance industry, such as the National Dance Council of America, Dance Vision International Dancers Association or Dance Masters of America.
