The Certification Workbook gives sample exam questions and explanations of the various parts of the exam.     Ballroom Dance Teachers Academy

    • The Ballroom Dance Teachers Academy is a vocational program that provides professional training to aspiring ballroom dance teachers. In this course, you learn how dance as a leader and follower, the musical elements of various styles, how to teach private and group lessons, and the technical elements of different styles. When you complete the course, which includes taking and passing the exams, you receive a Certificate of Completion from the BDTA. This is different than professional certification, which is recognized by an accredited organization within the dance industry, such as the National Dance Council of America, Dance Vision International Dancers Association or Dance Masters of America.

    • The Ballroom Dance Instructor's College prepares ballroom dance teachers to become certified teachers recognized by the National Dance Council of America. Students learn how to lead and follow, teach techniques, theory and professional deportment. When students and teachers complete the program, they can be tested for Certification by a National Examiner. Certification recognized by the NDCA is a good start to being considered an expert in the field of ballroom dance.

    Dance Charisma

    • Dance Charisma has a program that includes dance technique, dance history, and how to teach private and group lessons. The dance styles program is based on the Dance Vision Bronze syllabus, one of the most universally recognized ballroom dance programs. They prepare teachers for certification and, upon completion, arrange for a National Examiner to come to the school for testing.
