Enroll in a dance school that provides a rigorous curriculum. Attend all of the classes, and pay close attention to the instructor's guidance.
Practice the positions and dance moves at home daily. Spend 30 minutes to an hour daily practicing. Do not practice in point shoes at home unless specifically instructed to do so by your teacher.
Go to bed early and get plenty of sleep. Let your body get the rest it needs to rejuvenate and strengthen itself. Avoid late nights that can cause you to be weary the following day.
Eat a healthy diet. Strive to eat the recommended amounts of each food group. Do not restrict calories unless instructed to do so by a physician. Take a multivitamin and other mineral supplements as deemed necessary by your doctor.
Cross train. Spend time lifting weights and doing aerobic activities. Stretch out well after your warm up and again after your workouts are finished.
Take in a ballet production, and examine the way the dancers execute their moves. Take note of techniques that can improve your ballet dance skills. Incorporate the techniques into your own dancing.
