What is a shrinklet poem?

A shrinklet poem is a type of poem that uses indentation and spacing to create the illusion of a three-dimensional object, usually depicting an animal, a person, or an object. Shrinklet poems are also called box poems, ASCII art, or textual images.

Shrinklet poems are typically created using a monospaced font, and rely on careful alignment of characters such as commas, dashes, and periods. This alignment gives the poem a "pixelated" appearance when printed, or the appearance of a three-dimensional object when read from a distance. For best effect, shrinklet poems should be printed out.
