How Do I Print Out a Google Book?

Google Books are digital versions of books Google generates by scanning published works into its database and converting them into digital files individuals can read online. Currently, Google has over one million titles published online ready to download for free. While some of the more recent titles may only be excerpts, Google has full titles as well. Not only can readers download the books they like onto their hard drive, they can print them out as well for reading away from the computer. To print out a Google Book, individuals will need to print from a PDF reader after downloading their Google Book.

Instructions

    • 1

Search Google Books for a title you're interested in reading either by typing the title into the search field or by clicking on a genre link in the left-hand menu of the screen. Click on the title once it appears within the search results area of the page to access the reading and download options.

    • 2

Click "Download" at the top of the screen once the page finishes loading. Select a file extension such as PDF or EPUB so you can open the document in applications such as Adobe Reader and save it to your computer. Note that some books may still be under copyright as they're more recent, making them unavailable for download.

    • 3

Open your PDF reader and search your computer for the book you just downloaded. Select the book from your list of documents to open it.

    • 4

Click on "File" if you're using Adobe Reader and then "Print." Check your printing options so that the dimensions are the default 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Change the printing layout from portrait or vertical to landscape or horizontal. This is so Google Books can print two pages on each side of a piece of paper.

    • 5

Print out the entire document before removing it from your printer's tray. Stack the printed pages together and place them in a folder or binder for safekeeping.
