What did Alonzo Alvarez De Pineda discover in 1519?

Alonzo Alvarez de Pineda did not discover anything in 1519. He died in 1520.

However, in 1519, Pineda charted the Gulf Coast of North America from Florida to Veracruz, Mexico. This was a significant contribution to European understanding of the continent, as it was the first detailed map of the region.

He also claimed the land for Spain and reported on the local indigenous populations and resources. His work helped pave the way for future Spanish exploration and colonization in the area.
