Register with a self-publishing company. Contact information and royalty payment options need to be provided.Verify the account and begin publishing. Select the type of book you want to publish. Self-publish options are hardcover, paperback or E-book.
Read the content guidelines. Upload the content as an EPub, Word file or PDF. The publisher will modify the submission for their site. Review the modified submission. Acknowledge the review as OK to proceed. Revise your original submission if you locate errors. Upload again to replace the prior version.
Create cover art for the book. Select a template and design or create a custom cover by uploading your own files. Most publishers offer a cover creation service for a fee.
Agree to add an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) to the back cover of the book. ISBNs identify the book by a 10 or 13 digit number. Publishers usually offer a free ISBN to their customers. You could also purchase an ISBN through Bowker.
Price the book or e-book. The publisher will suggest a minimum price. You can set the price higher if you choose.
Order a proof copy. Review the proof and place the book on sale through the publisher if the proof is free of errors. Revise your original submission file if you find an error. Order a new proof to review.
