How to Make a Beautiful Photo Book on a Mac

If you have dozens of digital photographs you'd like to share them with family and friends and a Macintosh computer, consider making a photo book is a nice. The photo books are professionally printed and make great one-of-a-kind gifts. Designing the books is easy and fun.

      Navigate to the folder that contains the photos you'd like to include in the photo book. Open the finder window for the photos so that you can see the icons for each image.

      Open the application iPhoto, which is part of the iLife application suite that comes preloaded on Macintosh computers. Click on the "File" menu, and select "Create New Album." When the dialog box opens, type in what you'd like to title the album, then select "OK." Select your new photo album on the left side of your screen, then drag the photo icons from the finder window into the screen for your new album.

      Click on the Book icon at the bottom of the iPhoto window. Select the size of the book you'd like from the pull-down menu, and select whether you want hard cover, soft cover or wire-bound soft cover. If you prefer, choose a template style on the left. Clicking on options and prices will take you to the Apple website, which shows examples of the available designs.

      Select "Choose." A small screen will ask you to pick "Auto-Flow" to add photos or to "Drag and Drop" the images into your photo book. Choose which you prefer. Drag and drop photos where you'd like them placed, if that is your choice.

      Fill in book's title, captions as needed and proofread the entire book. The forward and back buttons allow you do to this easily.

      Click on "Buy Book" when you are finished. iPhoto will connect with Apple and allow you to select cover color and the quantity. Fill in the shipping information and your payment information, and finalize your order.
