How to Link an Ebook to a Website

Writing an ebook is an easy and excellent way to introduce yourself to the writing world. It allows you to test the waters to see whether there is an audience for the material you are writing about before dishing out money to publish a hard copy of your book. You don't have to pay any money to create the ebook. If you have a website, you can start marketing your ebook to a targeted audience by placing a link for the ebook on your site.

      Ensure that your ebook is in PDF format. If you created your ebook as a Word document, you can convert it to PDF format by using the Adobe Online PDF Converter. You can also download a free copy of the OpenOffice software to convert your document to PDF format. Be sure to save a copy of the the converted PDF document to your computer's hard drive.

      Log in to the control panel of your web hosting account. Open the file directory.

      Click on the "Upload" option to upload a new file. Locate the PDF file that was saved to your computer's hard drive and upload it to your website's file directory. Be sure to document the URL for the PDF file once it has finished uploading.

      Locate the webpage in the file directory where you want to place a link for the ebook. Click on the webpage to open the HTML editor for the page.

      Use the HTML code below as a guide to place the ebook link on your page. Be sure to edit the code by entering your PDF URL that was generated in Step 3 as well as the name for your Ebook.
