How to Use the Words Ice Ax in a Sentence

When you are in the middle of a grade-five ascent of near-vertical ice and rock, you are not thinking about grammar. Later, however, when you are writing an account of the climb, your grammar will be important. Just as an ice ax itself is a tool designed to fulfill a very specific role, the word "ice ax" also fulfills a very specific role: that of conveying your meaning when an ice ax is your subject. Use the word "ice ax" correctly to keep your grammatical ascents clean.
