How to Use Confederation in a Sentence

Mankind is a gregarious animal. Hundreds of thousands of associations, groups, clubs, leagues, coalitions and interest groups attest to the importance of participation and society to the individual. A confederation is also a type of society, though the word "confederation" refers chiefly to an alignment of entities such as states. States are no different than individuals, however; they like to be surrounded by friends and familiars, too.
