Wisconsin Art Grants

For Wisconsin artists and arts organizations, realizing artistic dreams can be challenging if they don't have the funding to see them through. Fortunately, there are several arts organizations that currently fund arts grants in Wisconsin and these programs are designed to foster the careers of individual artists while creating an increased awareness of the arts in the community.
  1. Wisconsin Arts Board Grant Programs

    • The Wisconsin Arts Board sponsors grant programs that support individual artists and arts projects in the community. Artist fellowship awards of $8,000 are available to visual and media artists, as well as those working in the literary and performing arts. Applicants must be professional artists residing in Wisconsin who have not attended a fine arts degree program in the three years prior to applying. Artist and community collaborations grants are available to artists who seek to create community art projects. A maximum of $5,000 may be awarded, and applicants must be working in cooperation with a nonprofit or community-based organization toward the completion of the project.

The Folk Arts Apprenticeship program provides $3,000 grants to Wisconsin folk artists who would like to teach their skills to others or to artists who would like to study under a master traditional folk artist.
