How to Mount & Display Children's Art

The best way to get people interested in artwork is to start at an early age. Children who create work love to see it hung and enjoy sharing their visual art successes with peers, teachers and family. It is easy to mount a show even if you are on a tight budget. The most important aspect is to make sure that the work is hung evenly and that it appears clean. Make sure to include a description of the project so adults can understand what they are looking at.

Instructions

    • 1

Glue the finished works of art onto a solid color paper. Make certain each sheet of paper is the same size. Black paper is recommended so that the focus is on the artwork and not on the mounting paper.

    • 2

Cover a wall, wooden board or cork board with large sheets of colored craft paper using tape or staples.

    • 3

Tape or staple the kid's artwork onto the solid color wall. Make sure to allow even spaces between each work of art to create an orderly appearance to the display. Leave room for a description sign.

    • 4

Design or print out a sign with the title of the project and adhere it to a sheet of black paper. Include details of how the project was made and the materials used. Also include what skills were learned if applicable.
