The American Craft Council is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote American craft and craft artists. It hosts shows all over the country, including an annual show in Atlanta every year in mid-March. The show features fiber arts, ceramics, sculpture, wearable art, leather crafts, jewelry, mixed media and glass, among other crafts. Special categories include Green Craft, Garden and Handmade Under $100. Demonstrations of how to make different crafts are also part of this show.
This annual show in Savannah not only features more than 60 booths of a wide variety of visual arts and crafts, but also musical performances including the works of Savannah native Johnny Mercer. Other music performed during the show is jazz, blues, pop and classical. The three-day art festival, every year in late April on Savannah's Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, also features drum and dance performances.
The streets of downtown Alpharetta are barricaded to traffic during this two-day festival every year in mid-April. Artists from all over the United States will show their work, alongside live music, theatrical performances and kids activities. Traditional Irish dance performances, salsa and dance from the Middle East, Asia and India will all be on stage throughout the weekend. The 100 artists feature work in glass, metal, stone, sculpture, painting, photography, prints, pottery, jewelry and textile arts.
Art Downtown sponsors four arts and crafts shows every year, all held in Postell Park, Pier Village, St. Simons Island. The arts show season begins every March with the Annual Spring Invitational Arts and Crafts Show. The Annual Memorial Day Weekend Invitational Arts and Crafts Show fills the last weekend in May. The Annual St. Simons Island Sunshine Festival Arts and Crafts Show celebrates July 4. The Annual Labor Day Weekend Invitational Arts and Crafts Show wraps up the outdoor show season.
