Create a solar system model to represent the sun and planets with a piece of cardboard, a marker, string, a compass, and paper cutouts of the sun and planets. On the piece of cardboard, draw the circular orbits of the planets around the sun using a compass. Attach paper cutouts of the suns and planets to the piece of cardboard with string, then hang the model from the ceiling.
Use glow in the dark star stickers to create a constellation map. Look at a constellation map for reference. Peel and apply the stickers in the shapes of the different constellations on the ceiling, wall, or a large sheet of black paper. If desired, you can label the constellations with their Greek and proper names and celestial coordinates.
Chart the different phases of the moon with a moon phase drawing. Look up the moon phases for the month on a moon phase calendar and draw the moon phase for each day of the month using black construction paper and white marker or crayons. Label the day of each moon phase, and hang the moon phase drawing on the wall next to a calendar. You can create a moon phase drawing for each month of the year.
