  1. About A Beka Book

    • A Beka Book materials can be used by homeschooled children.

A Beka Book is a private company that specializes in Christian-based learning curriculum that can be used in Christian schools or homeschools. A Beka states that users can "benefit from a treasury of textbooks and teaching materials that reflect the very best in traditional education, comprehensive curriculum and Scriptural truths." A Beka offers a wide variety of subjects, but one popular series is the Art Projects series.

    Art Projects for Younger Children

    • Cutting shapes out of paper helps children develop motor skills.

Most of the books in the A Beka Art Projects series for younger children have projects involving cutting and gluing, coloring and drawing. These are excellent starters for children who are homeschooled or enjoy extracurricular art projects outside of school. The subject matter of these projects are related to Christianity themes, academics and the seasons.

    Art Projects for Older Children

    • Watercolor projects are introduced to older children.

As children develop finer motor skills, A Beka offers books with art projects that focus on more fine-tuned skills such as drawing with colored pencils and painting with watercolors. These lessons also start to introduce concepts of art such as symmetry, perspective and art appreciation.
