How to Make a Rolodex Card Shape

A Roloxex is a system of filing contact information that uses cards with special slots cut in the bottom that slide over rails in the filing box. The rails keep the cards from getting out of alignment but allow them to removed easily for copying or using the information. The systems are different sizes and require different sizes of cards. You can purchase refills for the systems, print templates off the internet or make them yourself.

Things You'll Need

• Cardstock
• Rolodex card the size and shape you want
• Pencil
• Sharp craft knife
• Cutting surface

     Place the Rolodex card on the piece of card stock. The card stock should be similar in weight to the card you are copying. Line up a straight edge of the card with a straight edge of the card stock so you don't have to cut that edge.

     Trace around the card with the pencil, paying special attention to the slots in the bottom of the card.

     Put the card stock on the cutting surface.

     Cut around the traced outline with the knife.
