How to Create Wrestling Animations

Animated GIFs have been popular on the Internet in the last few years. Wrestling animations in particular tend to lead the pack in terms of popularity, as you will see many fans who are members of forums sporting them as avatars or in their signatures. With the right software, you can make some in short time.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Record a segment or portion of a match of a wrestler you want to be feature in your animation, if you have a video-capturing program that can record live TV or read data from a videotape or DVD. Make sure your software is set to record video in mpeg format. It will save the recording to a folder on your computer. Or, if you don't own a capture program, you can download an mpeg video off the web.

    • 2

Download Animation Shop 3, an extra feature of Corel PaintShop Pro, for a 30-day trial on Corel's website. Open the program and go to "file" and click "open." Then, locate the mpeg you wish to use to create your animation. Only open a maximum of about 400 frames, as the program may freeze if you try to open a very large file.

    • 3

Close the file and reopen it, selecting the next 400, if you don't find the frames you want to use for your wrestling animation in the first 400. In the field that asks you which frames you want to open, change "0" to "400" and the bottom number to "800." Continue searching this way until you find the frames you want for your animation.

    • 4

Highlight the one you want using your mouse. Then, holding the Shift key, scroll forward with your right arrow key until you get all of the frames you want. It's best not to exceed 200 frames, as your animation may be too large in file size, and depending on your computer, it may not be able to handle it.

    • 5

Go to "edit" to copy the selected frames, then paste them as a new animation (you will see different choices when you click "paste"). Resize the animation to what you would like. Most wrestling and other animations are sized relatively small, at around 100-126 pixel-width.

    • 6

Go to "file" and choose "save as." You will then be prompted to save the animation to your computer. Choose a name for it and then click "save." You will then get a small floating window in the program called "Animation Quality Versus Output Size," where you can modify the quality of the animation. The default is "Better Image Quality," and you should keep that as is. Click "Next" and then "Next" again and your animation is saved. You can right-click on it and view it in motion by selecting "View Animation."
