Craft Shows in Connecticut

Connecticut has crafts shows and fairs occurring all year-long, many of which are long-standing traditions in their respective towns. Those with long traditions generally take place outdoors on the grounds of a public park and feature food, live entertainment as well as a large selection of artisan displays.
  1. Sugarloaf Crafts Festival

    • Held in spring in Hartford, this Festival displays the work of over 200 artisans. Such craft fields as pottery, jewelry, fashion, and furniture are represented there. Besides displaying their work for purchase, the artisans at Sugarloaf also hold interactive demonstrations for those attending. Included also at the festival are live piano music and a costumed storytelling event for children. Gourmet food is also available for purchase.

New England Arts and Crafts Festival

    • Located on the Milford Green, a park in downtown Milford, this festival has, as of 2010, been in existence for 22 years. Both admission and parking are free. Some the crafts on display at the festival include basketry, needlework, furniture, and leather crafts. Over 100 exhibitors display their work there and ultimately have it jugded. The Festival also has children's entertainment events and live music. It's supported by the Milford Arts Council.

    Old Wethersfield Fall Craft Fair

    • This time-honored craft fair takes place at Cove Park, which is located in Wethersfield, a town in the greater Hartford area. It occurs in the fall and has the work of over 100 craftspeople on display. Many different craft forms are represented there, including candle-making, metallurgy and pottery. The Fair also has live entertainment, food and refreshments for sale, and events for kids. The Fair is organized by Charter Productions, which is located in nearby Cromwell, Connecticut.
