Craft Shows in Minneapolis, MN

Craft shows display handmade wares and decorations created by local, regional and national artists. These events take place around the country, including large cities like Minneapolis, Minnesota. Minneapolis is located near the middle of the state on the banks of the Mississippi River near St. Paul, Minnesota. Generally, these events take place either during the summer or early fall.

  1. Twin Cities

    • The Twin Cities Arts and Crafts Show and Sale takes place at the end of September every year, and it attracts approximately 50 vendors each year. This event showcases arts and crafts of the American Arts and Crafts Movement, including metalwork, furniture, paintings and pottery. The American Arts and Crafts Movement mainly took place from 1900 to 1920. You can also watch presentations on how to make items like pottery and ceramics, and you can purchase chances for one of the giveaways that occur throughout the two days of the festival. This craft show occurs on a Saturday and Sunday at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and it costs $7.00 as of 2010.

    Craft-O-Rama

    • The Crafters Local 612's No Coast Craft-o-Rama is an annual event, showcasing artists, craft makers and designers. It takes place during the first full weekend of December at the Midtown Global Exchange building in downtown Minneapolis. It occurs on a Friday and Saturday, running from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The event attracts between 75 and 90 vendors per year. Vendors must apply for a spot and pay a $10 application fee as of 2010. The event is free for the public.

    Loring Park

    • The Loring Park Art Festival usually takes place during the first weekend of August, and it attracts about 140 artists and crafts makers. It occurs at Loring Park, which is located in downtown Minneapolis, and it takes place on a Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the event hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the Sunday event hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Besides arts and crafts, food is also available from food vendors.

    Uptown

    • The Uptown Art Fair also occurs during the first weekend of August, and it takes place in uptown Minneapolis, near where West Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue meet. The event attracts nearly 400,000 people each year and nearly 360 artists and crafts makers from all over the world. This is a three-day event, running from Friday through Sunday. The hours are Friday 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
