Cut-Out & Glue Art Activities

Cut-and-paste art activities are great for helping people of all ages to get creative and think outside the proverbial artistic box. They also make art more easily accessible, as the materials are things that can be found in any home or school. There are many cut out and glue art activities that can be enjoyed in any environment.
  1. Sign

    • Create a sign to hang up in your home or personal space. This sign can read anything, from your name to a personal quote. Write the letters you would like to go on the sign on some colored construction paper. Use a font you feel best represents you or the sign's content. Cut the letters out with some scissors and glue them on to an appropriately sized piece of poster board. Use acrylic craft paints and other art supplies, such as markers, to decorate the letters and the surrounding areas. You can then tape the sign up in place, or punch two holes through the sign's top and weave a string or ribbon through it for hanging.

    Collage

    • Create a collage out of various images, to represent yourself or a chosen theme. Cut a piece of poster board into a shape that suits your theme, if applicable. For example, if the theme is love you can cut the board into the shape of a heart. Then, collect images from magazines, newspapers, the Internet and your personal photo collection. Cut them out and paste them onto the poster board in a creative manner. You can even cut out words that relate to the images and include pictures you have drawn by hand. The end result will be a striking collection of images that is artistic in not only the content, but in the manner they are arranged.
