How to Attach a Clip Cord to a Tattoo Machine

Over the centuries, tattooing has changed very little. Most advances in the art are improvements made to hygiene or speed. The tattoo machine is an advance that makes it possible for the tattoo artist to complete work much more quickly than the traditional methods using a handheld tapper and needle. The clip cord connects the tattoo gun to the tattoo power supply, carrying the electric current to the magnetic coils that power the needle's rapid movement.

     Locate the clip cord input on the face of the power supply. This is usually a single plug outlet.

     Insert the plug end of the clip cord into the power supply.

     Attach the clip cord to the tattoo gun by pressing the prongs into the upper and lower binding posts on the machine. The prongs should make contact with the machine to allow the current to pass freely into the coils.
