Cut felt into a circle that is the same size as the back of your hand. Cut the circle into two half circles.
Cut along the rounded edge of the half circle, making a spiky edge as though it is a crown. Be sure not to cut the flat base.
Fold a small lip -- about half an inch -- along the flat base of the half circle.
Cut a strip of felt 1/2 inch wide and 3 inches long, splitting the tip in the shape of a lizard tongue.
Fold a small lip at the opposite end from the split tip.
Place your hand into the sock, matching the heel of the sock with the back of your wrist.
Attach the folded lip of the felt mane to the heel of the sock, using the fabric glue. Face the excess fabric of the lip towards the back so it is not visible.
Glue the googly eyes to the sock, in front of the felt mane.
Glue the folded lip of the "felt tongue" directly in the center of the open mouth, formed by opening your fingers away from your thumb inside the sock, placing the excess fabric of the lip facing downwards.
