How to Transfer Printer Ink As a Stencil

Printer ink works well for stencils, because you can print any digital design that you can find or create. Images can also be re-sized or digitally edited and still retain all the clean lines and detail needed to use the ink as a guide for cutting out the stencil.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a stencil pattern or create your own.

    • 2

Print your image or design directly onto a sheet of medium weight acetate.

    • 3

Lay the acetate on top of a cutting mat. Tape the edges of the acetate down to prevent it from shifting.

    • 4

Use a utility knife to carefully cut out the stencil. For a black and white image, you will be cutting out the areas that have been rendered black by the printer ink.
