How to Transfer Ink Silk Screen Powder

If you print silk screen T-shirts and hats, you probably are looking for ways to make the process simpler. Silk screen transfers can be the answer you need. They are easy to use on all types of material and can be produced quickly. The only problem is, silk screen transfers have a tendency not to adhere completely to material, no matter what type of ink is used. The solution is to use transfer ink silk screen powder.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Pour 1 lb. of medium-ground transfer ink silk screen powder into the bottom of a 20-gallon plastic storage box. Spread the powder in an even layer along the bottom.

    • 2

Using plastisol ink, print your image with silk screen equipment onto the silk screen transfer paper. With the ink still wet, carefully drag each transfer paper through the powder until it is completely coated.

    • 3

Carefully shake off any excess powder. The transfer is now ready to be cured.

    • 4

Set the blow dryer on a hot setting. Move it over the transfer until the ink has gelled and is dry to the touch. The silk screen transfer is now ready to use.
