How to Create Animations in Apophysis

Apophysis is a Microsoft Windows based fractal flame editor. A fractal is a geometric shape that can be split into individual parts that are a smaller identical version of the large primary shape. Much of nature is made up of fractals, and it is these repeating images that allow naturally occurring life to be captured in computer graphics and animations. Apophysis offers many features to make flames look natural, including an editor that directly alters flames, a triangle randomizer and an adjust window for altering colors. It can also facilitate script writing.

    • 3

Click the transform editor. Open a new blank frame. Select to edit "Transform 1."

    • 4

    • 5

Select the transform tab and make the weight value ".01."

    • 6

Select transform 2. Set the variation values; linear=.9, spherical=.1 and curl=.1. This will give a dramatic curve to the image. Select the variables tab and set the value of the curl_c1 to .689617.

Experiment with the transform features. Adjust the weight of the lines. Try .99 on the line weight.
