What are the black notes?

There are no black notes in music notation. The notes on the staff are either white or black, but do not represent the colours of the actual piano keys.

* White notes represent the "natural" keys on the piano: A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.

* Black notes represent the five "accidental" keys: C#, Db, D#, Eb, F#, Gb, G#, Ab, A#, and Bb. They raise or lower the pitch of the original note.
