If you like folding scrap paper into paper airplanes, you'll probably like origami. Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding. You can fold paper into animals and fun objects. Follow these tips to find origami patterns and make your favorite paper shapes.

      Visit craft websites. Type the word origami into the search boxes at each site. Try children's craft sites, Japanese sites and paper sites.

      Go to your local library. Ask the librarian to help you find origami patterns. Find books in the children's art section or the adult craft section. You may also find patterns in Japanese books. Also check your local book store.

      Check out card making websites for origami patterns. Just type the word origami into the search box on the card making sites.

      Find patterns from online retailers. You can buy paper, patterns and books. Order them online and have the patterns shipped to your home.

      Make origami hats with free patterns (see Resources below). This site has patterns you can use free. Check other craft and teaching websites for free instructions.

      Buy crease making software (see Resources below). The patterns were created by a paper folding artist. There are also paper folding patterns in Microsoft Publisher. Find the patterns in the quick publication section.
