Tracing paper is a translucent paper that is made by dipping high-quality paper into sulfuric acid for a few seconds. The paper is then washed and dried to produce the final product.
Tracing paper is placed over a picture or other object that you can then trace onto the paper. Because of its translucent nature, tracing paper is easier to see through than normal paper.
Tracing paper is nonaging, acid free, stronger than traditional paper and largely resistant to oil grease, water and gas.
The harmonized system, or HS, code for tracing paper is 4806.
Tracing paper is often used for laser and ink-jet printing, letterpress printing, drawing and photographic printing.
