Juried Art Shows in Texas

Juried art shows give both budding and experienced artists a chance to show off their works. While generally quite competitive, these types of shows can provide a way to break into the art world. Artists who participate in these shows can gain quite a bit of exposure that results in potential sales. Texas has a variety of juried art shows throughout the year. Some shows focus strictly on Texas residents, while others are open to international competition.
  1. Red River Valley Museum

    • Red River Valley Museum sponsors an annual juried art show open to artists across the world who are 18 and older. Categories of accepted art include watercolor, sculpture, oil/acrylic and graphics/pastel/mixed media. Each applicant must submit an application, slides of his work and an entry fee. All work must be original and offered for sale. The show begins with a gala opening event called the "Denim and Diamonds" evening with a gourmet reception, chamber music and artwork viewing. Winners receive cash awards presented at the reception. The evening finishes off with live country music and a barbecue on the museum's grounds.
