How to Install an AE86 Antenna

It's easy to install a new AE86 antenna. Whenever you notice that your aged antenna is becoming worn and weathered, it's time to replace it with a new one. You can pay a car audio retailer to perform a costly installation or choose to do it yourself for free. You can also tell that you'll need a new antenna if you attempt to surf the AM or FM band and can't get anything across either band.

Instructions

    • 1

Study the product's directions that were packaged with your AE86 antenna. Look for rust by examining the fender area. The area must be clean prior to the installing of the brand-new AE86 antenna.

    • 2

Put the coaxial cable in the antenna cable. Install the radio's antenna lead in the coaxial cable.

    • 3

Route both of the cables to the antenna mount in the fender. Run the antenna cable through the opening inside the fender. This is where the mast is going to be mounted. Place the mast inside the hole. Screw the mast in the coaxial cable. Make sure that it is tightly secured. Put the panel covering the antenna on the mount area.
