What is the costume wear in binislakan dance?

The traditional Binislakan Festival costume for men consists of a tapis (loincloth) wrapped around the waist, a colorful shirt with intricate patterns, a headband or scarf around the head, and sometimes a vest. The attire showcases vibrant colors and often features indigenous designs or patterns.

For women, the traditional costume consists of a malong, a long and wrap-around skirt with intricate patterns or embroidery. They also wear a blouse or tapis underneath the malong, along with a colorful sash around the waist and various accessories like necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

Headpieces and accessories play an important role in completing the Binislakan costume. Headdresses are often adorned with flowers or feathers, while jewelry and accessories are made from indigenous materials like beads and brass.

The costumes showcase the rich cultural heritage and diverse traditional costumes of the people who participate in and celebrate the Binislakan Festival.
