Determine your superhero's purpose. Historically, superheroes were crime-fighters. That is not always the case anymore, but because they are heroes, they have to be "good guys." Your superhero's purpose could be anything from saving the earth from the devastating effects of pollution to putting an end to bullying in schools.
List your superhero's powers. Decide if you want your superhero to be able to shoot flames from his fingertips or freeze any surface with a breath of air.
Sketch a logo. Incorporate your superhero's purpose and powers into the logo. A superhero who can leap over buildings will likely have a logo featuring springs or wings. A superhero whose hideout is at the top of Mount Everest might have a snow-capped mountain-shaped logo.
Plan the color scheme. A superhero who was accidentally frozen in an industrial accident will wear cool colors such as snowy white and icy, light blue. A superhero who has the ability to burst into flames should wear fiery reds, oranges and yellows.
Decide how you will hide your identity. Superheroes almost always are incognito. Consider whether you will wear a full-face mask, an eye mask, or body paint. Draw several different options.
Draw your superhero's outfit. The base of the outfit usually consists of stretchy, form-fitting clothes such as tights, leotards and other dance-type clothing in vibrant colors. Over these items, consider adding a cape for dramatic effect. Be sure to include a belt from which your superhero's magical accessories can be hung. Consider what type of tools and accessories your superhero will use to accomplish his purpose.
