Instructions

    • 1

Check the membership requirements of the Dramatists Guide of America. The group is open to dramatic writers of all skill levels, from amateur to professional. Writers from other countries do not need U.S. stage experience to qualify for membership.

    • 2

Decide for which of the three categories of membership you qualify. An active member has had a work produced on a Broadway, Off-Broadway or regional theater stage. An associate member has authored plays or musical compositions. Student membership is for those who are enrolled in a dramatic writing course.

    • 3

Pay the appropriate yearly dues for whichever membership category you choose. Active membership is $150 per year, an associate membership is $95 and membership for a student is $35. Canadian residents will pay $10 more than the usual amount of dues and international members will pay $20 more.

    • 4

Enjoy the flexibility of no initiation fees. And if you're a previous member of the Dramatists Guild of America, you won't need to complete another application. You will, however, need to pay the yearly dues as before.
