Who was C B Brooks?

Cleofas Bernard Brooks (_Cleofas Booker_ after May 1920) (November 15, 1910 – died c. 1979) was an African-American serial killer who confessed to murdering at least two white men in Fort Worth, Texas, around the start of World War I. Brooks was acquitted in one trial and sentenced to death in the other. Following the commutation of his sentence, he was eventually paroled in 1941. Brooks was considered by the press to be a "Negro Terror".
